Email is the breakfast of champions for a lot of people, so being able to send and receive email on your tablet is a big deal right?  Follow the links below for tips on getting started sending on some of the most common tablet computers.  You can also refer back to the general mobile email setup information just in case you need another starting point.

 

  • Apple iPad

    Step 1:

    Tap “Settings”

    Then tap “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”

     Step 2:

    Under “Add Account”, tap “Other”

    Step 3:

    Tap “POP”, then enter your Name and Email Address. Entering a Description is optional.

    Under “Incoming Mail Server”, enter the hostname for your email provider (such as pop.yourispdomain.xxx). Then enter your username and password.

    Step 4:

    Under “Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)”, enter mail.yourispdomain.xxx in the hostname field.

    Then enter your full email address ( yourusername@yourispdomain.xxx) and password.

    Now touch “Advanced”.

    Step 5:

    In the Advanced screen, be sure that TLS for Incoming and Outgoing mail is set to  “On”.

    Also, check that Authentication is set to “Password”.

    If you are required to enter a server port, set it to “587”.

    Save your changes and exit Settings.

     

  • Blackberry Playbook

    Step 1:
    Tap “Settings (Gear icon) and tap “Accounts”

    Then tap “Email, Calendars, Contacts”

    Step 2:

    Tap “Advanced Setup”

    Step 3:

    Tap “POP”, then enter your Email Address and Server information

    Tap “Continue”

    Step 4:

    Tap the option for the type of synchronization that you wish to have.

    Step 5:

    Tap “Save”

     

  • Motorola Xoom

    Step 1:

    Tap “Apps” and tap “Settings”

     Step 2:

    Tap “Accounts & Sync” and then tap  “Add account” and “Email”

    Enter your Email Address and Password

    Step 3:

    Tap “Manual Setup”

    Tap “POP”, then enter your Email Account Server information

    Step 4:

    Tap “Done”

    Step 5:

    Enter an Account Name and Tap “Done”

     

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab

    Step 1:

    Tap “Home” and then tap the “Grid” icon

    Step 2:

    Tap “Email”

    Enter your Email Address and Password

    Step 3:

    Tap “Next”

    Tap “POP3”

    Enter the Incoming server settings: Username, Password, POP3 server (ex: pop.yourispdomiain.xxx, Port (110), Security type (TLS),

    Tap “Done” and then tap “Next”

    Step 4:

    Enter the Outgoing server settings: SMTP server (ex: smtp.yourispdomain.xxx), Port (587), Security type (TLS), Username and Password

    Tap “Done” and then tap “Next”

    Step 5:

    Enter an Account Name and Display Name and save your settings

     

  • Toshiba Thrive

    Step 1:

    Tap “Apps”

    Step 2:

    Tap “Email”

    Enter your Email Address and Password

    Step 3:

    Tap “Manual Setup”

    Enter the Incoming POP3 Server Account settings

    Tap “Next” to validate the mail settings

    Step 4:

    Enter the Outgoing Server Account settings

    Tap “Next” to validate the mail settings

  • Barnes and Noble Nook

    Step 1:

    Tap “Apps”

    Step 2:

    Tap “Email”

    Enter your Email Address and Password

    Step 3:

    Tap “Manual Setup”

    Step 4:

    Select POP and tap “Ok”

    Enter the Incoming POP3 Server Account settings

    Step 5:

    Tap “Next”

    Enter the Outgoing Server Account settings

    Step 6:

    Select how often the tablet will check new email

    Tap “Next” and then tap “Done”

  • Kindle Fire

    Step 1:

    Tap “Apps” and then tap “Email”

    Step 2:

    Tap “Other”

    Step 3:

    Enter your Email Address and Password

    Tap “Next”

    Step 4:

    Select POP3

    Enter the Incoming POP3 Server Account settings

    Step 5:

    Tap “Next”

    Enter the Outgoing Server Account settings

    Step 6:

    Select the Folder Poll Frequency option

    Tap “Next”

    Step 7:

    Enter the Display Name and Account Name

    Tap “View Your Inbox”
