You can use either Netscape’s menu options or the Activation screen to set up email. To set up email via Netscape’s menu options, follow these steps:

  1. Install and open Netscape.
  2. Click Edit, then Preferences.
  3. Select Mail and Newsgroups.
  4. Click on the plus sign to the left of Mail and Newsgroups.
  5. Select Identify.
  6. Type your name.
  7. Type your email address, such as username@yourISP.com (where username is the login name assigned to you, and yourISP.com is the domain name of your Internet Service Provider).
  8. Click Mail Servers.
  9. Click Add.
  10. Type pop.yourISP.com in the Server Name field (where yourISP.com is the domain name of your Internet Service Provider) .
  11. Set the server type to POP3 Server.
  12. Type your user name, which is the first part of your email address (before the @).
  13. Click OK.
  14. Type smtp.yourISP.com in the Outgoing Mail Server field.
  15. Type your user name in the Outgoing Mail Server user name field.
  16. Set the Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or TLS for outgoing messages field to Never.
  17. Click OK.
