If your computer has a wireless network adapter installed and the adapter is turned on, you will be able to view a list of available wireless networks. To view the list and connection options, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Start button and then click Connect to.
  2. The Show list will appear. Click on Wireless to view a list of wireless networks that are currently available.
  3. Click on the network you wish to access and then click Connect.
  4. If the network you wish to connect to is not listed, click Set up a connection of network. A list will appear that allows you to manually search for a network or use a wizard to create a new network connection.

Some networks require a network security key or passphrase. You’ll need to get this information from the network administrator or the wireless service provider. When using unsecured wireless networks, be aware that information passing over the connection from your computer, including the web sites you visit, the documents you work on and passwords you may use, can be intercepted.
