In Windows 8, programs = apps.  After all, that’s what everyone is using these days no matter if they are on their smartphones, tablets, or any other communication device.  Try getting used to using you apps instead of your “programs” by following these steps to view them:

1.  On the Start Screen, right-click any open area and in the lower right of the screen, click All apps.

2.  You can then begin to search for the app in which you’re looking for.
