Step 1: Turn the iPhone/iPad ON and tap Settings on the iPhone home screen.
Step 2: Tap Mail, Contacts, and Calendars
Step 3: Tap Add Account.
Step 4: Tap Other. Tap Add Account.
Step 5: Enter your email account settings
- Name: First and Last name
- Email Address: Enter your entire email address (e.g. myname@mycitycable.com)
- Password: Enter the password for your email account
- Description: Type a name that identifies the account
Step 6: Tap Next. Enter the following Mail Server Settings
Incoming Mail Server
- Host Name: mail.mycitycable.com
- Username: Enter your entire email address (e.g. myname@mycitycable.com)
- Password: Enter the password for your email account
Outgoing Mail Server
- Host Name: mail.mycitycable.com
- Username: Enter your entire email address (e.g. myname@mycitycable.com)
- Password: Enter the password for your email account
Step 7: iPhone will attempt to verify server settings. If verification fails, tap Continue and proceed to updating advanced server settings
After successfully (or unsuccessfully) adding an email account to the device’s list of accounts, follow this path to edit the account’s incoming/outgoing server settings:
Outgoing Mail Server settings
Step 1: From the IOS Device’s home screen, Tap Settings.
Step 2: Tap Mail, Contacts, and Calendars
Step 3: Tap the Email Account you wish to edit.
Step 4: Tap SMTP under Outgoing Server
Step 5: Tap your Outgoing Server under Primary Server
Edit the following:
- Use SSL: OFF
- Authentication: Password
- Server Port: 587
Step 6: Tap Done
Incoming Mail Server settings
Step 1: From the IOS Device’s home screen, Tap Settings.
Step 2: Tap Mail, Contacts, and Calendars
Step 3: Tap the Email Account you wish to edit.
Step 4: Tap Advanced
Edit the following:
- Use SSL: OFF
- Authentication: Password
- Server Port: 143
Step 5: Tap Done
