You can use either Netscape’s menu options or the Activation screen to set up email. To set up email via Netscape’s menu options, follow these steps:
- Install and open Netscape.
- Click Edit, then Preferences.
- Select Mail and Newsgroups.
- Click on the plus sign to the left of Mail and Newsgroups.
- Select Identify.
- Type your name.
- Type your email address, such as username@yourISP.com (where username is the login name assigned to you, and yourISP.com is the domain name of your Internet Service Provider).
- Click Mail Servers.
- Click Add.
- Type pop.yourISP.com in the Server Name field (where yourISP.com is the domain name of your Internet Service Provider) .
- Set the server type to POP3 Server.
- Type your user name, which is the first part of your email address (before the @).
- Click OK.
- Type smtp.yourISP.com in the Outgoing Mail Server field.
- Type your user name in the Outgoing Mail Server user name field.
- Set the Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or TLS for outgoing messages field to Never.
- Click OK.
