Welcome to Tip of the Month! This month we’re answering common questions about email and ways you can avoid over-quota errors.
Keep in mind that there is a 250MB limit on mail that can be stored on the server. This limit includes the total space consumed on the server in all your folders, even the sent mail and trash folders.

Following are two ways to avoid over-quota errors and missed messages:

Download Messages Frequently

Use a mail client, such as Outlook or Thunderbird, to download your messages frequently as there is no set limit on how much mail can be stored in a mail client.

Delete Messages from the Server

Make sure your mail client is configured to remove messages from the server once they’ve been downloaded to your computer. If you primarily use Webmail, make sure to empty your trash folder periodically.
